“Senior Class H :story September 2 1946, was a memorable day for our class We entered CCHS as NFresh1es' We must confess we were green we entered the assembly very timidly and cautiously seated ourselves on the east side of the room Our class officers for the year were Junior Yunko, President, Dale Holst, Vice President, and Mary Ann Cook, Secretary Treasurer We chose Mr Allen for our class sponsor Our Freshman year was spent in much studying and few activities We had a class picnic at Heartwell Park in Hastings Afterward we went skating at Sl1m's rink We wound up the evening looking for one of our Freshies who had lost herself We entered our Sophomore year in 1947 with more experience and deter mination Our class officers for the year were Dale Holst, President, Jack Flesner, Vice President, and Betty Jane Richert, Secretary Treasurer Coach Smith was chosen for our class sponsor Our class picnic was held at Heartwell Park 1n Hastings with Mr Allen acting as our sponsor in the absence of Coach Smith In 1948 we became proud Juniors Th1s year was simply bursting with act1v1ties To start off the year, we elected our class officers, who were Jack Flesner, President, Junior Yunko, Vice President, and Dale Holst Secretary Treasurer Mr Allen was again elected as our class sponsor We November Everyone flocked around to see them, and they all admitted they were indeed a masterpiece of ar and the most beautiful class rings in the h1St0ry of Clay Center High School We presented our Junior Class Play 'Wildcat Willie in the Doghouse The cast included all the members of th class People are still talking about the magnificent banquet that was glven for the Seniors of 1949 The theme was, HA NIGHT IN HAWAII,N and was carried out with palm trees, hula girls, romantic music, and a native HaWa11aD as guest speaker We decorated the auditorium for Baccalaureate and Commencement Our class picnic was again held at Heartwell Park in Hastings Finally, we got to the top We confldently entered the assembly in September 1949 We were at last the noble Seniors Some of our proJects for this year are the school newspaper, 'The Wildcat U and the 1930 Annual Our officers for this year are Duane Vicary, President, Wanda Ham, Vice President, and Betty Jane R1chert, Secretary Treasurer We presented our Sen1or Class Play, HDead of the Night ' to a record audience The Seniors spent a very enjoyable sneak day at Nebraska's metropolls There are thirteen SeD1OrS graduating this year We will step out into the world w1th fond memories of good old CCHS the friends we made, the good times we have had, and the four prec1ous years spent in the quest of knowledge 11 , . selected our class rings early and received them about the first of 0 .
