LCDR J. J. Hogan III, USN Commanding Officer Lieutenant Commander James J. Hogan III graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned an Ensign in June 1963. Lieutenant Commander Hogan ' s first assignment was on board USS BAUSELL (DD-845) where he served as Anti- submarine Warfare Officer. In December 1965, after attending Destroyer School, he was assigned to USS CAMP {DER-251) as Weapons Officer. In June 1967 he assumed duties as Executive Officer of the CAMP. This was followed by a tour at the Bureau of Naval Personnel, as an Assignment Officer in the Officer Distribution Section. From Washington Lieutenant Commander Hogan was assigned as an Exchange Of- ficer with the Royal Navy at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, England. Following this tour at Dart- mouth, Lieutenant Commander Hogan completed a course of instruction at the Royal Navy Staff College at Greenwich, England. Lieutenant Commander Hogan has been awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Com- bat V. He is married to the former Maureen E. Hayward of San Diego, California. They have a son, Jimmy and a daughter, Laurie. Lieutenant Com- mander Hogan ' s next assignment is as Chief of Staff, Destroyer Squadron FIVE.

i I Executive Officer LT a E. Kesson II, USN Lieutenant Charles E. Kesson II was com- missioned an Ensign in April 1969. His first assignment was on board USS TULARE (LKA-112) where he served as Assistant First Lieutenant and later as Navigator. After attending Destroyer School, he was assigned to CLAUD JONES in November 1972. In December 1973 he assumed the duties as Executive Officer. Lieutenant Kesson is married to the former Nancy A. Gillo of West Warwick, Rhode Island.
