N I S T O The Senlors of l9A5 started thelr colorful career ln the Claude School lH September of l934 w1th Loyce Gwathmey as thelr teacher Only four of the or1g1nal class st1ll remaln Dlck Moore, Durwood Averyt, Zolena McLaren and Dorls Smalley Mayella Kendall Jolned them ln the latter part of the year James Conrad and Harvey Mlller Jolned the class 1n thelr second year of school wlth M1ss Maude Keese as thelr teacher Mlss Beaulah Watson, now Mrs Peg Doyle, of this communlty brought the class safely through the thlrd grade Mlss Phalba Carnes, now Mrs J P Smlth, was the teacher of the fourth grade, but none of our Senlor Class Jolned us at that tlme Jlm le McFarland Jolned the class ln the flfth grade where Myrtle Hood was our home room teacher Marlanne Holsonbake who 1S now Mrs Bert Woolrldge, Jr , sponsored the class 1n the slxth grade where John Luther, Jr , Eugene Noel Jolned our llttle band ln the Seventh grade when 10 of the Senlor Class graduated 1nto Hlgh School under the leadershlp of M153 Nell Rowan The bewlldered Freshmen entered Hlgh School, but under the sponsorshlp of Mr John Wlsdom pulled mlraclously through the year B1ll Sharp and Norma Dav1s added thelr personalltles to the Sophomore Class 1n l9L2 when we were sponsored by Helena Nelson Elalne Bagwell, Carl Garrlson, Bennye Ruth Hundley, Martha Ann Kltsler and Thesolone Gllley Jolned the class ln thelr Junlor year to engqy many new thrllls and act1v1t1es Junlor Senlor Banquet was one of the maln act1v1t1es of the year and was capably put on wlth the help of thelr sponsor, Mrs Ivan Chauveaux Otls McCall and Frank Tyler entered the Class ln thelr Sen lor year, but unfortunely were called, along w1th Harvey Mlller, to serve ln the U S Nawy before the year was over Mlss Wlegman 15 the very helpful and capable Senlor sponsor as well as the lady who has taught us all the Engllsh we now know Many have come, many have gone, but above you see the Sen lors who are about to graduate from Hlgh School to cllmb to greater helghts 1n the future S E O R H I R Y joined us.
