' Five hundred and four freshmen As the class of 1970 walked into the busy halls of Classical for the first time on September 6, 1967, everyone, could see an enthusiastic, ambitious group. It was obvious that they were willing and ready to learn and to live up to the Classical standards. They were ready to support whole- heartedly the athletic teams, all sorts of class projects, and many other events that make a successful year. On November 17, 1967 the Class of 1970 elected as their leaders: President Peter Smith, Vice President Marcia Stahl, Secretary Linda Stringham, Treasurer Pamela Lake, and Member-at-Large George Karamallis. As their Student Government representatives they elected Marcia Balicki, Diane Mr. Smith, Mrs. Bogan, Mr. Curley, and Mrs. Bowen seem to enjoy serving in ' , I glee capacity of advisers for the Class of 1 70, Doyle, Gregory Govoni, Kristen Larson, Michele Mullin, Christine Nicholson, and Mark Weinberg. A most successful representation in the Student Treasury Drive, which meant that a great majority of freshmen filled the stands at athletic events cheering wildly. The freshmen worked hard scholastically resulting in a good many honor students. Vacancies in many school clubs and activities quickly filled with many interested freshmen who displayed talents in the Carousel, art classes, the band, and the chorus. The freshmen have found their first year at Classical very re- warding. Looking forward to leading the Class of 1970 in its first year at Classical are Secretary Linda Stringham, President Peter Smith, Treasurer Pamela Lake, and Member at Large George Kararnallis. 28
