Sue Pendleton, how do you manage to smile in every picture? It must be our wonderful photographer who does a marvelous job. That isn't the right attitude for a girl who has a geometry test tomorrow. Shou1dn't you be studying instead of flirting with Mark? uw., Mr. Miller seems to be helping Blanche Ellen McMillan again. Poor Mike seems 40 sr- .rw be struggling with that problem. 't worry, Mike, Mr. Miller will be with you in a moment. Shown above is a busy Algebra class. Bonnie Breeding seems very intent onher lessons. The three lonesome figures by the door are busy Orbit members Karen Robinson, Mary Hunt, and Janis Capps. 22

MATH EPARTMENT Never let it be said that Classen students lack opportunities to become great mathematicians! These opportunities come in the form of the courses available in the math department. For math-minded lower classmen there are General Math, Algebra I and II, Plane Geometry and High School Math. For the Senior whose mind is just one big math book there are Trigonometry, Solid Geometry and Math Analysis. All in all we don't see how Classen can help but turn out many of tomorrow 's great mathe- maticians. And last but certainly not least are the teachers who guide our junior geniuses through the field of Math. They are Mrs. Della Roberts, head of the department, and staff members Mrs. Maxine Haney, Miss Ruth Wooten, Mr. Truman Miller, Mr. James Stark, Mr. Richard Buck and Mr. Lonnie Gilliland. Bobby Protzman, famed teacher, attempts to explain this difficult trig problem. It seems you have no discipline in your class for Ned Kise doesn't seem to be paying too much attention. This picture shows how quiet under classmen can be if they really try. Notice how industrious and beaming this math class is. A wonderful example, no? 1, ... , ,F an ,. - This is a math analysis class which we see above. Richard Johnson seems to find Gayle Goodner's teaching terribly funny, What do you find so funny?
