Although the size of the more advanced classes is not large at this time, the enthusiasm and interest shown by the students participating in these courses is great enough to justify offering them. This year a new practice was introduced in the math department at Classen. A new course called mathe- matical analysis was offered to those pupils who wanted to progress further in math. In this class, the sudents were given a sample of trigonometry, solid geometry, calculus, and analytical geometry. The class, composed of only boys this year, was small enough to enable Mr. Hill to give each student individual time and assistance,

Classen offered to its better math students an Op- portunity to join the Honor Math and Junior Honor Math Clubs. The clubs recognized those students who had done superior work in senior high math. To qualify for membership in the -Iunior Honor Math Club, a student had to be making .in A or Bin his second semester of Geometry l.
