Blue .laeliel llueeu For Blue Jacket Queen, number two in the annual royalty races at Classen, five senior girls are nom- inated by Blue Jackets. Election is by secret ballot among members. The winner is announced at an annual Thanks- giving formal which features her coronation. A white nylon fleece jacket bearing name and symbol of the organization, queen's name and title, date of event were pre- sented Donna Evans winner of '54-'55 B. J. honors. The congra- tulatory kiss, an orchid and au- thority over the club's paddle were bestowed by Don Cies, presi- dent. Other candidates were Connie Jones, Elloui Harwood, Carol Marshall and Nancy Wotring. Meteor Queen Members of the Meteor Pep Club select a senior girl each year to reign as their queen. Candidates are nominated and elected by club members. Eileen Bodenheim- er, Linda French, Delores Green, Alice Lay, and Shirley Moore were i954-55 candidates. The winner was announced at the Meteor an- nual Christmas formal. Miss De- lores Green was their 1954 choice. Queens are traditionally pre- sented with the official scepter,' -the club paddle bearing the Meteor emblem, a white nylon fleece coat embroidered with the queen's name, the year and the club name, and an orchid cor- sage. Proctor Queen Candidates for Queen of Proctors are nominated and elected by members ot the organization, Classen's student law enforce- ment society. A week ot campaigning among members is clim-axed by a mixer. Members honor queens by be- stowing a cloak inscribed with the emblem of the order, date of the event, the winners name and title and she is given the privilege of invoking rule with the clubs paddle . Perry Wootten, Proctor presi- dent, crowned Ardeth Ainsworth '54-'55 Proctor Queen. Runners- up, Bunny Brown, Annette Marsh, Elizabeth Prince and Norma Pritchard attended Ardeth. ports llneen First elected queen of the year at Classen is Sports queen, nomi- nated by Boys O Club. This is an activity that promotes ticket sales tor athletic events. Her election is on a school wide basis. Sports queen replaces the cus- tom ot a queen for each sport. For i954-55 blond-haired, blue- eyed Anita McCullough reigned. Other candidates were Jane Bar- row, Lillian Burrow, Jeanne Mc- Clelland, and Ann Stephens. Cor- onation in the annual Sports as- sembly is presented by Boys O Club. Dan Ketchum, president presented Anita with a white coat signifying her queenship. ...88....

Prineess and Prince ei Friendship On Monday, February l4, Clas- sen appropriately chose a Prince and Princess of Friendship, end- ing a week dubbed Friendship Week. Sponsored by the Student Council the week is set aside each year as the time for each Clas- senite to be extra friendly. Cards saying Hi Friend were distri- buted throughout the school and students were told to be thinking about two seniors to be crowned the two friendliest people at Clas- sen. On the following Monday an assembly, themed Great Lovers of the Past, was presented in honor of the royalty. Pot Tyson and Perry Wootten received the honors,
