SUPREME COURT Created on the lines of the United States Supreme Court Classen's Supreme Court, highest judicial branch of govern- ment at Classen, acts only when called upon. lt interprets and passes upon Student Council rulings and regulations and serves as a court ot appeal for students. Appointed by the president ot Student Council and approved by its mem- bers, four Associate Justices and one Chief Justice compose the deliberating body. STUDENT COUNCIL Representing the student body Classen's Student Council has been active as long as Classen has been a high school. It has grown from a small representative group to a large class which meets each day. Participating actively in state, re- gional and national conventions for the last ten years, our Student Council hosted SASC in l95O. One of its important missions is sponsoring foreign students. School elections, annual charity drives within the school, granting charters to clubs and making general rules for student conduct keep members busy. For the past five years building a fund to furnish a lounge in the new Classen has been a major proj- ect. The Council is composed of one elected representative from each advisory plus students who are especially inter- ested in student government work. Kouncil Korners, student supply store is the Council's financing venture. Members attended the SASC at Jackson, Mississippi last fall with Mr. Duane Weinert, director of student activities and sponsor of Student Council.
