ROW 2: Bass, Hand, Collins, Mitchell, Batchelor, Churchill, Cohen. l-love you seen the electric lights around the bulletin box in the auditorium foyer? lt you have, you know that it belongs to the Science Club. The club was formed to promote interest in science and in the annual Science Fair. At their meetings, held every two weeks, speakers from various colleges talk to the group. This year they toured KVVTV and made several exhibits to promote interest in the Science Fair. This industrious group is sponsored by Mrs. Geraldine Buzbee. Members have won national recognition and scholarships consistently. HONOR LANGUAGE Como esta vd? Parlez-vous Francais? ln order to promote interest in advanced language courses Honor Language was founded in l942. The idea of the club was presented by a student. There were twenty-five charter members, To become Mrs. ROW l: Belisle, Davis, Cheatham, Fagin. ROW 22 Butler, lrvine, Mann, Richardson, Morrison, Fowler. ROW 3: Davidson, Buchannan, Meager, Morris, Mclilderry. ROW 4i Jones, Cobb. ROW li l-laswell, Montgomery, McClelland, Pulley, Chodos. ROW 2: Mankin, Wittels, Meadows, Chap- pelle, Early, Guthrie, Glasgow, Von Tungeln. ROW 32 Stoll, Means, Seligson, Foster, Stong, Werme, Kennedy, Piatt. a member a student must be enrolled in his sixth semester of the some foreign language with a 3.5 average in his fiI'St five semesters, The group rotates sponsors. This year Miss Von Tungeln is the sponsor of the organization. HONOR MATH You have to be able to add more than two plus two to be singled out for membership in Honor Math. This organization honors outstanding math students. Members sponsored two projects this year. They organized a junior honor club whose constitution was approved by the Student Council. The other is their lend-a-hand project for assisting pupils. ln the math bulletin box Problem of the Week and an honor problem appear each week. Names ofthe first twelve persons turning in correct answers are listed in the box. Mrs. Reba Clark sponsors the group. Proctors are on duty every hour of the day at Clas- sen. Each hour one proctor is captain and is re- sponsible for other proctors at various stations throughout the building. Welfare and assistance to students and visitors in halls or on the grounds are the obligations of Proctors, Administration policies are interpreted and enforced by them. ROW 4: Hargis, Rey nolds, Nichols, Hill, Watson, Fast Leaf, Jenson, Carpenter, Proctor Court is an adjunct to the work done by Classen's Supreme Court. Hearings in Proctor Court concern first offenders and violations of a lesser nature. Governed by the Proctor Board, the Court consists of two prosecuting attorneys, a court clerk, a'bailiff and a judge. Proctor Court meets once a week to hear complaints of minor infrac- tions. A jury of seven members of the student coun- cil listens to testimony and decides whether the de- fendant is guilty. Mr. Lloyd Estes -guides this tribunal in its work.
