Little Theatre members may earn membership in National Thespians through participation in dramatic interpretations in accordance with na- tional regulations. National Forensic League, national honor society for debaters and speech stu- dents, is one of Classen's really active groups. Per- formances before adult audiences of twenty-five or more, is required for amassingthetwentypoints necessary for membership, providing the student is in the upper two-thirds of his class scholastically. Mr. W. N. Corbin and Mr. Ted Nichols direct the work of the group, Their achieve- ments have gained nation- al recognition. Based upon scholarship, leadership, character and service. A total of I5 per- cent of the senior class may be elected to mem- bership and 5 percent of the junior class. Stevenson Chapter ot National Art Honor Society was formed on May 8, l944. Art Nouveau members who aspire to membership submit eight pieces of original art work to be judged in state and national contests. Miss Ma ry Lamb Lewis sponsors Classen's Chap- ter. Don Blanding chapter of Quill and Scroll, lnternational Honor Society for High School Journalists, was organized at Classen in l954 by lO members of Classen Life and Orbit staffs. Members are instructed in chapter meetings of the ethics and ideals of journalism inculcated by the Society. Eligibility is based upon scholastic standing and personal qualities of leadership. HONOR LANGUAGE Como esta vd? Parlez-vous Francais? ln order to promote interest in advanced language courses Honor Language was founded in l942. The idea of the club was presented by a student. This year Miss Von Tungeln is the sponsor of the organization. HONOR MATH You have to be able to add more than two plus two to be singled out for membership in Honor Math. This organization honors outstanding math students. Members sponsored two projects this year. They organized a junior honor club whose constitution was approved by the Student Council. The other is their lend-a-hand project for assisting pupils. ln the math bulletin box Problem of the Week and an honor problem appear each week. Names ofthe first twelve persons turning in correct answers are listed in the box. Mrs. Reba Clark sponsors the group.
