Although studies are of major import- ance, there is definite need for student participation in extra- curricular activities. Comet students are jiners . Classen has approximately forty school sponsored clubs which help de- velop qualities of initiative, leadership, cooperation and loyalty. The Student Council investigates programs and grants charters to desirable groups. Depart- mental clubs offer opportunity to add to experience in acade- mic fields such as commercial art, languages, math, writers and different science clubs. The bi-weekly newspaper and annual afford students oppor- tunities to test abilities in jour- nalistic and creative writing fields.
