TOMORROW'S CITIZENS IN TODAY'S WORLD -This theme of the PTA for 1953-S4 in- spired record attendance at meetings. C1assen's PTA group is one of the largest in the state. Activities this year have centered around student benefits. In October students participated in an Open House School Night at which teachers met parents. A Col- lege Board meeting in February centered on informa- tion about various schools and featured speakers who gave advice on college matriculation. In April,Classen faculty members were guests at a PTA dinner. Two other items which erideared PTA to students were, providing the Sooners for a March mixer, and the championing of Classen's first Talent Show which raised funds for the purchase of uniforms for the band. Indeed, Classen's PTA could qualify for member- ship in the PTSA QPar'ent-Teacher-Student Associa- tionj fast becoming popular in many sections of the country. Mrs. Warren D. Evidence of its worth are the many reports from universities and colleges' prais- ing accomplishments and recognition of Classen en- rollees. Miss Owen and Mr. Weinert sponsor student activi- ties that operate through the student council. An all- Classen talent show, with MOODS as its theme was a brand new endeavor for S3-54. me Duane Weinert Kathleen Owen Activiiies Counselor Slualenl Council Sponsor Siudcnt Council Sponsor aml Girls' Sports Director Miss Cockrum directs library activities. Library aides assist with bookkeeping, repairs, distribution of over due notices, and in keeping displays attractive. Class'en's library has some 8,000 volumes and makes available approximately 75 weekly and monthly mag- azines. Much of one's future success comes as a consequence of knowing one's aptitudes. Miss Ellis directs the test- ing and measuring program. As an additional activity she channels all visual education films.
