PUREWIIRD We of the Orbit staff chose The Circus for our theme this year because of its similarity with life at Classen. Many students feel that school is all drudgery. But think back, do you remember last August when you were Waiting for school to begin? Do you remember your impatience? Take for instance the members of the Board of Educa- tion and think of them as the circus directors, the superin- tendent as the ring leader, the principal as the barker, the faculty as the animal trainers, the student body, as the animals, the cheerleaders are the clowns, the student council as the managers, and the Orbit staff as the make-up artists. Although we make this comparison, education should be taken seriously. As we have been told time and time again, We are living in an Age of Crises, with danger lurking in all four corners of the earth. It is therefore necessary for our generation to extend an maximum ability in leadership and World understanding. We of the 1953 Orbit class have attempted to compare life as We must live it in the world today with not only the gaiety but also the seriousness of the circus.
