Winning a thriller from Northeast 19- 13, we went on to capture the biggest game of our season from our traditional rivals, the Central Cards, to the tune of 13-7. After Central, the Comets easily handled Putnam City 34-6 and slipped by the dangerous Enid Plainsmen, 21-13. By this time, there was no stopping our gridiron gladiators and we ran over Norman 20-6 and Shawnee, 27-0. We closed the season by beating Tulsa Rogers in a thriller, 13-6. All in all, this was a great season for the Comets and a tribute to the quality of our coaches. The only team in the state to knock off the Shooting Stars was the state champion Redskins. This defeat came while the boys were still shaken from the Little Rock setback. Many observers feel, on the strength of our fast ending, that if we had another chance we would have given Cap- itol Hill a run for their money. I Henry Coffeen, Classen's magnificent gridiron star, is -about to be pulled down from behind atter a long gain in the clash with Capitol Hill. may ,.i,m..,wf-vfww-Q www M-i..mx1- vw m A ss. .aewpm ,-
