Through Mr W H Taylors constant efforts to make these the best years of our lxves the cur rlculum was expanded to meet the needs for all youth at Classen Um f1ed studres were added as valu able tralmng for students The health and recreation program was enlarged enablmg everyone to partxcrpate m sports and to study problems ln health and fam lly llvmg One of the best steps forward was the guxdance program with three counselors devotmg thelr txme to helprng teen agers become happlly adjusted Durxng Mr Taylors frve years as prmclpal at Classen he has en couraged student partmclpatlon and a greater mutual understand mg between students and faculty 1n plannmg school actrvxtles MR W H TAYLOR NUM MR G W BRUCHER Counselor 7 MR LLOYD M ESTES Principal Vice Prmcrpal Having served as classroom teachers at Classen prevlous to becommg v1ce prmcxpal and counselor respectlvely Mr Lloyd M Estes and Mr G W Brucher had a thorough understandmg of school problems from the teacher pupxl pomt of v1ew They pro vlded understandmg guxdance through themr fairness and tact fulness Mr Estes who always found trme for leadership ln the ac t1v1t1es of the Proctors the Pep Clubs Cheerleaders and Comet Capers supervxsed the attendance department and mamtamed the best attendance record of all the cxty schools ln hrs dxscxph nary dutxes Mr Estes was everybody s frrend Mr Brucher was on the alert ready to help adjust dlffxcultxes wrth schedules or other problems that arose A capable counselor Mr Brucher was mfluentxal m showmg us that these years at Classen were the best years of our lxves ' v Y A 1 .
