I lHl'NIl fQ iii The math department sets its goal on the objectives put forth by the high school course of study in mathematics, Two of these objectives are: To teach the student to develop the habit of precise thought and lucid expression and to teach the student the mathe- matics of every day life. Courses in the math department are plane and solid geometry, elementary, advanced and college algebra, plane trigonometry, slide rule, senior arithmetic and elementary engineering. And below, Mr. Higbie instructs his pigslcin proteges in the funclamentals of football. The physical education department attempts to give the students indiviflual training, this includes teaching games that they can play in their leisure time such as tennis, badminton, archery and table tennis. The boys' classes have swimming, touch football, baseball and golf. The girls also swim, dance and play shullleboartl. A knowledge of other languages enriches the student's vocabulary, since many English words are de- ,-fvv-ww rived from them.
