HANSFORD MARTIN REBA IUNE LONG President Vice-President 06 ., ttfmftfft are dal ow., ,Q ' NX 009ml ,,, , , ROBERT BLINN IAMES BROWN Secretary Treasurer S 66:44 Three years ago some six hundred students from various junior high schools stood on the thres- hold of a never-to-be-forgotten experience. Three years of high school lite lay before themg three years that either could be filled with accomplish- ments or left blank. And as the end of that time draws near, the seniors look back to see just what they have done toward filling those years. Remember back in the fall of 1935 and the spring of 1936, that was when Allen Walter, Millington Young, Iacqueline Finley and Dwight Mitchell, as sophomore officers, guided the rather uncertain destinies of the sophies. After weathering the first rough year, the class of '38 really began to blossom forth and to make the rest of Classen aware that they existed. That was the year that the juniors put on as their class play Squaring the Circle, the Russian play star- ring the class prexy, Dale Scott. Other officers that year were Dwight Mitchell, vice-president, Robert Blinn, secretary, and Roy Finerty, treasurer. And then came the prom, The seniors were the ones who should have 'lshinedf' but it was the present senior class that really occupied the lime- light. X About that time Bill Bentley was flashing across basketball courts, junior debaters and orators won medal after medal-and so the second year had been completed. And now the last, and most important year is drawing to a close. Hansford Martin as president, Robert Blinn, vice- president, Allan Walter, acting secretary, and lim Brown, treasurer, have led the senior class of '38 to its most fruitful year. Dale Scott, perhaps the most outstanding boy of the class, is president of the student council and editor of the Classen Life. Russell Holloway, smooth talking orator, has carried Classen's name with him to the heights in the speech world, The football, basketball, baseball, and swimming teams each having its share of seniors, have added laurels to Classen's prestige. The Orbit, annual year book has been published successfully by two senior boys, Phil Boyle as editor, and Roy Finerty as business manager. And so as the class of 1938 prepares to receive its diplomas, the symbols which indicate the term- ation of three years work, the seniors may look back with pride on their accomplishments. Classen will long remember its class of l938.
