If Clarkton chalked up its eighth win by defeating Maxton for the Southeastern District Cham- pionship with a score of 44 12 Quarterbacks Wayne Priest and Nor ie Hester used the skill of - I g their passing arms to complete fifteen out of seventeen passes. Nelson, Wallace, Ferguson, Elkins and McKeithan were all outstanding. This victory moved Clarkton only three games from the State Championship. The next game was with Southern Pines for the Championship of the Southeastern Region. The Warriors played a bang-up game and, man for man, were as good as Southern Pinesg but fresh reserves enabled Southern Pines to cop their 44-22 win. This first loss for 1955 eliminated Clarkton from the State Playoffs. Edwin Elkins scored two touchdowns and a safety for Clarkton. McKeithan, Nelson, Wallace, Ferguson and Priest all gave their best. Post season honors came quickly to the Warriors. Edwin Elkins, Billy Wallace, Wayne Priest and Robert McKeithan dominated the All Southeastern Team with McKeithan being the honorary captain. Tommy Nelson made the second team. We were also honored to have Robert McKeithan, the third Clarkton player in three successive years, to make the All-State Team with Tommy Nelson, Edwin Elkins and Billy Wallace making All-State Honorary Mention.
