He was a person whose compassionate friendship was truly his best virtue. Throughout his many years in the Clarksville School System, David quickly gained the friendship of his classmates and never came to school without a smile on his face and love in his heart. He possessed an inner peace which affected everyone around him. We regret that we cannot still share his happiness which he now shares with God.’’ John Barker, Class President ALIESA BAIRD — Student Council, Jr.; Baseball Sweetheart, Jr.; OEA, 2 yr.; OEA Teasurer, Sr. JOHN M. For benevolent activities, members raised funds for Spina Bifida and Muscular Dystrophy through a bowl-a-thon and a bathroom tissue roll-a-thon. They also collected pantyhose to make therapeutic mattresses for the American Cancer Society. Free Enterprise activities involved all businesses and students of all ages through a Style Show for the high school students and color essay contests for the lower grades. It is believed these activities, joined with radio and television programs heightened awareness and appreciation of our American system of government. DECA members believe in innovation and initiative and practice these traits while training for the world of work in local cooperative training stations which challenge members to excellence.
