Vocational Organizations 91 The 1983-84 school year was a good year for CHS athletes. Of the 121 students in competitive sports, 64 were named to All District Teams. Thirty-two of these students went on to compete in regional play-offs, with an unprecedented three athletes qualifying for State Tournaments. Two of these students brought home trophies from this competition. On the district level, CHS had two teams place first, three teams place second, and one team place third. The various tournaments entered brought 13 first, second, and or third place trophies to CHS. Way to go Tigers! Sports 93 Tiger Football The 1983-84 Tiger Football Team progressed through the season with impressive district play and ended the year as the second team in the district. Pitted against the eventual undefeated state champion Dainger- field team in the Bi-District Play-Off, the Tigers gave the Daingerfield team their best challenge on the way to the championship, with better stats against them than any other team.
