We Dedicafc . . . , . , the 1958 yearbook to a spirit, one that is in the hearts of men everywhere. When this abstract symbol is gone, with it goes one of the most cherished periods of our lives. During our high school days we remember the football and basketball games, the pep meetings and all the splendor that accom- panies athletic events. Homecoming Day, with the parade and Queen, are among our fondest memories, as are the dances and class trips, classes and teachers. But the one thing that stands out above all these activities are the students, the kids pictured below with whom we spend our time. Long after the football games and parties are forgotten these people will remain in our minds and hearts. Not only their faces but their spirit, the wonderful way in which they did things, their vivacious SPIRIT OF YOUTH. Therefore, we, the annual staff, have cho- sen to dedicate the 1958 Panther Tracks to a spirit . . . THE SPIRIT OF YOUTH.

An occasion so mem- orable that it is proper and fitting that it be recorded in the annals of history so that in later years, while turning these pages, you will recall many faces, smiles, sorrows, and dreams of 1958. The world will be a better place to live in if the citizenship you have learned is put in practice. Make your future an in- spiring one for yourself and others, The annual is an ingenious diary for capturing your making history in a multi- plicity of ways. The editor and staff, and Mrs. Matlock, advisor and sponsor, are to be richly congratulated for this year's edition of the Panther Tracks. I am sure it will serve as a challenge and inspiration to those who will have the same responsibility in the future years, 1
