Each year it sponsors Airbands, dances, flower sales. Spirit Week, Field Day, Powder Puff, Homecoming and other social activities. The money from these fundraisers is donated to various clubs and groups within the school, as well as to the needy in the community. Along with the social aspect of the school. Student Council is involved in donating time and energy into community efforts. This year it put on a Community-Clean-Up where members cleaned up the area surrounding Clarkston. It also had a Rake-a-Lawn where members raked the lawns of Senior Citizens. Visits were made to Lourdes nursing Home and the SPICE children at SJH during the holiday season. It held a Senior Citizen Prom, can drive, and pancake breakfast for MD. Finally, Student Council aids in the betterment of CHS. An annual Sun-Day'' is conducted each spring where the council plants flowers, cuts grass, and generally cleans up the grounds around the school and in the courtyards. These activities are just a portion of the generous work Student Council does toward the improvement of CHS and the Clarkston Community. 1. Student newspaper Wolf Tracks PAPER This year a select group of Clarkston High School students, under the direction of Mr. Cooley, got together to produce a student newspaper (Wolf Tracks) The students involved in the paper did such things as, write copy, interview students, faculty and administration, brainstorm for feature stories, type the copy on to computer discs, edit copy, formulate pictures, and put all the information together into a format. After a final copy is made, it is sent to the board office to be reviewed and copied. The paper is free to anyone interested in giving it a look. All of the Wolf Track staff is positive and proud. Hopefully the paper will continue to be produced throughout the years to come. All of the work done for the paper is done out of normal class time. This is an extra curricular activity that is a definite learning experience. They attended a cheerleading camp at Oakland University during the summer and took home a 1st place! This enabled them to go to Tenn. and participate in the l.C.F. national comp. They also held their traditional cheerleading clinics for ele- mentary : Jr. Hi. students. The girls attribute their successful season to their coach, Jan Fife. We here at CHS appreciate their hard work and never ending spirit!
