She says that the U.S. and Denmark are on approximately the same level of technology and development. Mia found it difficult to adjust to the extremely different school system. She says that school in Denmark is more difficult in the way that the students do more problem solving and analyzing instead of the American way of memorizing. Last fall Mia was on the tennis team and she spent her winter on skiis. But for the past three years In Denmark she has been one of the champion rythmic gymnasts on her team and she was on the national team. Mia would like to thank some of the teachers and students here for making her feel so welcome in the U.S. Lulli Megyaszai — Lulli would like to thank all those students and teachers who have been so helpful to her. She feels that school here is very free and she is very lucky to be in this type of school. This one word means so much to so many people. Earlier this year, David Toma was brought to our high school to talk to kids about drug and alcohol abuse. At first everyone thought it was going to be another boring lecture, and anyone who thought this was mistakenly wrong. 2V2 hours in the high school gym, we were told about the contents and effects of drugs and alcohol. Some of the things were hard to believe, but all in all. it was the simple truth. Remembering that day. a lot of kids really began to start thinking abut what they were doing to themselves. They leaned a lot that they didn’t really know about drugs and alcohol, but they also learned alot about themselves. Toma’s words of encouragement to start helping ourselves really made people stop and think about life. His emotion and style captured everyones attention, but his caring was what made it all happen. Even if he only helped a few people, it was worth everything. The time and effort is greatly appreciated of everyone who worked so hard to bring David Toma to CHS, but there is one person who deserves a lot of credit — Marnie Meehan. Thank-you for tying to make this a better place, and for caring so much about everyone!!!!! Marnie Meehan and David Toma Quests At e.M.s. Parents are expected to participate in gym classes, do assignments, and actually take the place of their children, and for the students whose parents couldn’t come, they enjoyed those who did! Since 1984 was a big election year. Government classes invited local politicians running for office to come and speak to them.
