78 VARSITY CHEERLEADERS he 1984 Varsity Football Cheerleaders brought overwhelming spirit and enthusiasm to Clarkston High and the varsity football team this year. This squad, composed of eight seniors and six juniors, began their hard Work over the summer and held cheerleading clinics for 300 girls from the Georgia Youth Association. Once again, in August, the cheerleaders received top recognition as the best cheerleading squad at the National Cheerleaders Association camp at Furman University. Their Winning spirit was carried back to Clarkston and was generated through the support of their team, long practices, and their time and effort in making the run through signs. The squad was guided by the dedication of their wonderful sponsor and friend, Mrs. Ellen Risner. They were well rewarded for their hard Work at the NCA camp this summer Where they received lst- runnerup in the Award of Excel- lence competition. This squads dedication continued through the year and they cheered the football team on to a super season.
