g VARSITY BASKETBALL he Clarkston Varsity Boys Basketball team faced a major rebuilding year this season. Having only one senior on the squad, Geno McAdoo, the lack of experience was obvious. The Angoras made up for this deficiency with outstanding hus- tle and determination as well as a strong spirit of teamwork which was evident throughout the year. Beginning the season with practice on October 15, improve- ment Was shown daily. Upon the arrival of the first game against Briarcliff, the team proved that they were ready to win. Playing against their sub-region oppo- nents: St. Pius, Avondale, Hen- derson, Shamrock, and Chamble, the Angoras had shown their ability to compete with anyone. One of the highlights of the sea- son was the renewal ofthe Stone Mountain rivalary after 5 years absence. These games were excit- ing and enjoyable for everyone in attendance. Under the leadership of Coach Mike Haremski, a strong founda- tion for the future has been es- tablished. Stressing defense and aggressive rebounding the Ango- ras were among the county lead- ers in these statistical areas. The team was led by the rebounding of Russell Adams and Bernard Kempg the defense of Jason Greene, Larry Singleton, and Jonathon Binnsg and, the shoot- ing of Geno McAdoo and Jon- athon Davis. All of the players should be proud of their out- standing efforts throughout the season and ofthe mark they have left in the history of Clarkston Basketball.
