This was only my second day selling tickets, but I hadn,t expected to run into someone who didn,t know what a beer blast was. She was obviously a freshman, good looking at that, and already seemed interested in what I was selling. IIWell, I guess I saw something on the bulletin board but I didn,t really look at it. Whats it about? Yes, she definitely soun- ded interested. SheId probably buy a ticket just to find out what a beer blast was. Well, Double Axel is going to be playing. YouIve heard of them, havenit you? She nodded. IiGood. The blast is at our house next Saturday. were serving hotdogs, hamburgers, and all the Pabst you want. I knocked on the next door. Come on inf, invited the occupants. I opened the door and stepped inside. IIHi, could I interest you in a beer blast ticket. The blast is next Saturday, and iIWeIre both going away next weekend, she interrupted. IiOkay, thank-you anyway? I left and went across the hall. IIWould you like a ticket to our beer blast? The girl frowned, and pointed to her door. I looked, but it was filled with signs, posters, notes and other junk. I looked at her, puzzled. III am the RA on this roor, and you are not allowed to sell anything in these dorms. Somewhere, buried under all those signs was an RA sign, great! Undaunted by this disastrous news, I went up to the next floor, and began knocking on doors. This floor went a lot smoother. I sold four tickets, including one to the RA. '7' Up to the next floor where I was immediately accosted by two girls demanding to know if I was Itselling tickets to the Saturday blast? I sighed. IiYes, I am? I admitted, fully expecting to spend an entire night in one of Potsdams, clamp jailcells, or at least, be driven into the streets by a mob of angry prohibitionists. IiGood. well each take a ticketII, one said. uYoulll each take oh sure .. . of course you will? I was ecstatic. This was more like it. How could I be a critic of the times when it was obvious that things were in such great shape? I had sold six tickets in nine and a half minutes. Consumer spending was surely at a new high. Armed with similiar misguided deductions, I then proceeded to spend the next two hours and forty minutes finding out how many ways the word linoll could be expounded upon in a variety of interesting and colorful ways. I did; however, sell one ticket to some guy who didnt have any money after I per- suaded him that, unlike most places around, I would take a check. I finally met up with the other three guys from the house around eleven, when I was hit with the worst news of the night. iiWelI, lets see now. Mike and I didnt sell any, Bobby sold one how ,bout you? I was asked. IlSevenfl uGood. Here,s my two, Mikels two and one from Bobby. I need eleven twenty-five from you. IlBut I sold seven how come Ive got to take five more? I was really confused now. IiLookf, Bobby said, Hwe work together as a team. Everyone shares the same in whatever we sell. Four guys sold eight tickets, so, as a team we each sold two? I reluctantly handed over most of my nights, sales. ltAlright, here, I didnt know the rules of the day were so com- plicated? I somehow had done seven eights of the work in a team of four, and had only two tickets gone to show for over three hours work. As we headed back to the house, I noticed a lone person walking towards the dorms. Should I risk it or not? uAw hell? I said to Bobby, its only a quarter of a ticket, but what have I got to lose? iIHey, just a minute? I ran after the figure, ltdo you have your ticket to the Saturday blast? .. . No one will soon forget that fateful night in December 1975, when rag- ing flames engulfed the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity house, and leveled it to the ground. But, what seemed like an impossible task, became a dream come true for the Brothers. Eight months after the nightmare holocaust, Crow had a new house, on the original location at 77 Elm Street. Despite the members being disper- sed throughout vatious locations in Potsdam, and much loss of personal property and valuables, the Brothers pulled together and formed the Zeta Phi Building Corporation, with Alan Post, a 1973 alumnus as project coordinator. Determination, drive, and loyalty paid off, as contributions from all the other Greeks, alumni funding, and an all out effort from the members brought money to finance the house. LEFT TO RIGHT ARE: Ross Williams, Matt Horris, Alan Post, Bruce Konkoski of the Zeta Phi Building Corporation. Construction started in late May, and was completed by early September. They dealt with Konkoskits Northern Homes, but much of the labor was done by the Brothers them- selves. The pain, expense, and work all paid off, and the house was formally dedicated on October 24, 1976. Watching your world collapse, and then seeing it rebuilt, is an experience few people will ever know, but for the Brothers of Alpha Chi Pho, it was a harsh reality that has managed to reap even richer Alpha Chi Rho is: ROW 1: Rob Stanchi, Steve Schmidt, Chic Dittmar, Tim Parr, Rich En'kson, Jack Hyla, Dave rewards that will be seen in the Lustig, Dave lgnatuck, Bill Bibko, Dave Rogers. College holds a major portion of these precious moments, and sororities provide an ample amount to cherish. Sororities represent a sisterhood, a bonding of friends that incorporates loyalty, fun, laughter, tears and comraden'e. Membership is built through the processes of rushing and pledging. Rushing is a whirlwind of parties, food, drink, crazy costumes, dizzy en- tertainment and a million helloes. Though hectic, a rushee can usually decide which of the five Potsdam sororities: Ago, Alpha, Omega, Phi K, or Zeta, that she would prefer. Pledging is a time of sailor hats, beanies, books, pins, ribbons, singing, in- terviews, raids, functions, entertainment, and, whew a crammed, ex- citing, sometimes frustrating, period, where the girls learn the meaning behind the sorority, and unite themselves with their house. Sororities participate in Ice Carnival, hold fund-raising projects, sponsor beer blasts, and provide the individual with a varied and full social life. One aspect of sister hood that is not given too much publicity, is the growth, both personal and spiritual. You form yourself, and retain your in- dividuality, while learning how to work with people, interact, develop responsibility, and experience a feelinq of total friendship. There is alwavs someone there, ready to listen, ready to care. Sorority life is a unique situa- tion, but one that is filled with sensations, always remembered, never forgotten. On a golf course overlooking one of New Yorkst scenic Finger lakes, Pete Rickert taboveL a freshman fro Syracuse, N.Y., runs well ahead of the pack, on his way to a first lace finish in the ICAC meet. Clarkson went on finish third out of six teams. Below, the start of the meet: Clar on runners tfrom leftt are; Jeff Sullivan, Darr Bovee and Perry Gasperini. Opponent . .7 . .30 A young cross-country team started off their season against a team that had been undefeated for three years: St. John Fischer. Their streak was finally ended at 25, as Clarkson came away with a 26-30 victory. The first man across the line was a new face in Clarkson running: freshman Pete Rickert. The supporting cast for the victory was junior Rich Rougeux, freshman Darrell Bovee, and seniors Don Sipher and Perry Gaspenni. Clarkson went on to its second victory of the season by defeating a new cross- country team from Potsdam State 18-45. On October 2, the barriers ran Hobart on a scenic golf course which overlooked one of the Finger Lakes in southwestern New York. As the race progressed, it appeared as if Clarkson would coast to an easy win; they owned the first five positions at the mile mark. However, the Hobart team fought back only to fall short of Clarkson by a single point, 27-28. Following long weekend, the barriers travelled to Winooski, Vermont, to try their legs against a vastly improved St. Mikels team. Clarkson proved the better, as they took lst, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th places, and a 17-40 win. With a perfect 4-0 record, Clarkson now faced their arch-rival, St. Lawrence, the only team in their path to an ICAC cham- pionship. On an overcast October day in Potsdam, at 4:00, the starting gun soun- ded; twenty-nine minutes later, freshman, Pete Rickert crossed the finish line, break- ing a three-year course record. This proved to be the only bright spot for Clarkson, as a strong Lam'e team took the next seven places, and an easy 20-42 victory. Following a tri-meet loss to RIT and, again, St. Lawrence, Clarkson travelled to Hobart for the ICAC championships, where the team clinched 3rd place, their best showing in four years. Freshman, Pete Rickert, by his first place finish, became the first Clarkson runner ever to win the ICAC championship. The 1976-77 cross country team is: ROW 1: Fran Rougeux, Co- Capt. Following a 2-2 tie against LeMoyne, the booters downed Alfred 5-4, and then trounced Ithaca 50, playing probably their best game of the season. Against powerhouses Binghamton and St. Lawrence, the knights did not put on as good a showing, as they were shut out 3-0 and 20 League champions, St. Lawrence, went on to shut out every oppo- nent in the league, and were later picked for NCAA post season playoffs. Clarkson bounced back from the two losses to down Potsdam 5-0 and RIT 3-1; but then dropped two non-league games to Colgate and Rochester. The knights played an ex- cellent game against tough Colgate, but ended up on the short side of a 2-1 score. With a 4-1 league record, Clarkson still hung onto a chance for making the ECAC playoffs; a victory against RPI would clinch it. On October 1, the hooters travelled to Troy, N.Y., and, in a hard-fought contest, lost 2-1. To say the Golden Knights had a very good year in hockey for the 7677 season would be an understatement. To tell all behind the success and accomplishments of the team would be an impossibility. But certainly, having finished first in ECAC Division I play, the liYear of the Golden Knighti, became a reality. Clarkson opened the season strong, tak- ing back to back wins against Western Michigan, then splitting two contests against Canadian teams, beating Toronto, but losing to Canadasi no. 1 team, Concor- dia. Twelve records were broken as Clarkson defeated three teams in winning the Thanksgian Tournament. After downing powerhouse UNH 5-2, the Golden Knights easily handled Ottawa 13-3 and St. Lawrence 7-1. Returning to division 1 action, Clarkson defeated Vermont, rival RPI and Colgate to up their ECAC record to 6-0. RPI took their revenge three weeks later, when they upset Tech 5-2 in their own RPI Touma- ment; they went on to take the trophy. Clarkson settled for a second place finish by virtue of their relatively easy wins over Pennsylvania and Yale. On January 14, Clarkson began the first of fourteen ECAC contests, which they hoped would result in a Division I crown. Following victories against Northeastern and Penn, Clarkson lost only their second Division I contest to Cornell 11-8, despite hat tricks by Dave Taylor and Sid Tanchak. Following a 9-3 victory over Division II powerhouse Union, the Clarkson skaters trounced St. Lawrence 10-2 at Appleton Arena in Canton. Four days later, they assumed the Division I lead as All- American goalie Brian Shields shutout Princeton, and Tech skated to a 3-0 win. Meeting a fired up RPI club in the Ice Carnival game, Clarkson scored seven goals, gave up six, and took the rubber match between the two schools. Returning to the road, Tech invaded fifth ranked Boston College and skated away with a 6-3 victory. Tuesday night. It was coach Jerry York's second win over the Wildcats in three outings this season and put Clarkson back in the driver's seat in the East. Dave Taylor, Sid Tanchak and Kevin Zappia each scored twice and had an assist. On February 16, the Golden Knights handed Colgate a 4-1 loss, a first on Colgate ice in four years. Entering the February 19th weekend, Clarkson sported an overall record of 22-4 with a division record of 16-2, good for first place in the east, and second in the nation. On the 19th, Tech ran into a high flying UNH club, and dropped an 8-6 decision. The next night, they played a surging BU team, and lost 6-1. Returning home on the 25th, Clarkson came back to win a rather lackluster 5-2 game against Vermont. All- American goalie Brian Shields played a tremendous game in the nets, but Techs, performance appeared generally ragged. On March 1, the University of New Hampshire invaded Walker Arena for what promised to be one of the most important games of the year. Tech started out strong, taking leads of 3-1 and 4-2 on the strength of two goals by Dave Taylor. UNH quickly stormed back in the second period, scoring three goals to take a 5-4 lead. With thirty-seven seconds remaining in the period, Kevin Zappia fired a shot past UNHsi Magnarelli to tie the game at 5-5. Forty-five seconds into the third period, Sid Tanchak got the go ahead goal, and Marty McNally tallied with five minutes left, giving Clarkson a two goal lead. A last second goal by UNH still left them on the short end of a 7-6 count. Once again no. 1 in the east, Clarkson closed out their regular season by overcoming a tough St. Lawrence team in overtime 6-5. In first period action, Dave Taylor picked up his 93rd and 94th points of the season, breaking the xv'asmvtmv-WWWW w A- all-time ECAC scon'ng record. The Golden Knights entered the ECAC quarter finals against eighth ranked Providence, and defeated them 6- 3. However, hopes for an NCAA crown ended March 11 in the semi-finals, when Clarkson lost a 6-4 lead late in the third period, and dropped a 7-6 game to BU. Cornell took advantage of an obviously frustrated squad in the consolation game, as they tipped Clarkson 5-4, despite three points by Dave Taylor and two goals by defenseman Billy Blackwood. Individually, Clarkson placed three skaters on the All- American team: forward Dave Taylor, defenseman Billy Blackwood and goalie Brian Shields. Taylor set numerous records in his hockey career, including most points in Clarkson and ECAC season history, most career goals and assists in Clarkson history; he was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL and Houston in the WHA Blackwood finished the season as the eastsi top scoring defenseman, and holds Clarksonsi career scon'ng record for defensemen. Second time All-Amen'can Bn'an Shields was a major factor in the success of the Clarkson team. Finishing the season with a 3.6 goals against average, Shields stopped an average of 31.2 shots per game, had one shutout, and shared in another. Predictions for the future? Techsi returning skaters look very impressive, but they will need to put out that lit- tle bit extra if they hope to play in the NCAASC Once they do, though, I hope Fm there. The storm, which struck during the last weekend in Janu. ary, immobilized virtually all the Midwestern and Northeastern states, The bitter cold and drift- ing snow resulted in blizzard conditions in these areas. In northern New York the storm created hazardous travel- ing conditions from late Friday through Monday. A state of e- mergency was declared Monday, January 31, in St. LaWrence County, and afternoon classes were cancelled at Clarkson and Potsdam State. Many state roads including the state thruway were closed due to drifting snow during the storm. Buffalo, which has seen a record amount of snowfall already this year, was hit hardest by the blizzard. Thousands of cars were aban- doned in the Buffalo region, and the impossible roads there resulted in at least 12 deaths. Several other states also faced massive snow removal tasks. including Michigan where 11-foot drifts blocked the roads. To aid in the snowstorm, National Guardsmen were called out in Minnesota, Ohio and Pen- nsylvania. The blizzard only served to compound other problems created by the unusually cold weather throughout much of the nation. If below normal temperatures continue into Feb. this winter will go down in the records as the coldest of the century. The Mississippi and Ohio Rivers havefrozen over. trap- ping hundreds of barges in the ice. Many of the barges contain heating oil yet to be delivered. Similiar conditions exist on many waterways in the eastern two-thirds of the country. Along the New Jersey coast, ice is-causing problems of a dif- ferent sort. The shifting ice is breaking apart piers. docks, and navigation aids in the coastal waters. More damage to piers is by Ken Lofgren expected to occur when the ice eventually thaws this spring. The cold weather this winter has also effected the southern states. Florida was hit by several successive cold snaps that caused extensive damage to vegetable and citrus crops. Early estimates placed the loss at over $350 million. As a result, over 100,000 migrant workers in Florida were temporarily left without jobs. The crop damage will also cause higher prices for winter vegetables and citrus fruits throughout the nation. The cold weather alsoewor- sened the natural gas shortage that is effectlng no fewer than 17 states. In New York, dwindling gas supplies forced the closing of over 15,000 industries in the state. The shutdowns resulted in about 200,000 temporary lay- offs. Schools in the state have also been effected. Gov. Carey ordxed the closing of 1300 gas- heate schools for aWeek. The gas shortage began to ease some- what in parts of New York last Three CCT Organizations Affected by SGA Budget Cuts Three organizations at Clarkson have been affected by the Student Government Assoc- iation budget problems. SGA, Potsdam State's counterpart to the Clarkson CCSA, pays half of the budget for ice Carnival, and WTSC. Up until this year. WNTC was also joint funded. When the audit of SGA accounts showed a deficit of $40,000, CCSA President Bob Rizzieri. CCSA Vice President Bob Ziek, CCSA Comptroller Maggie ,Mangen and Recreational Services Director Guy Arnold met with SGA President John Duggan and SGA Treasurer Tom Kilmartin to discuss the affect of the deficit on the three organizations. At that meeting, held in early 'December, Duggan and Kilmartin itold CCSA that they wanted WNTC liquidated. that they would fund WTSC for at least two years, and that they might pay their half of this year's Ice Carnival budget. The following is a synopsis, by organization,'. of, what has happened since that meeting. WNTC Last spring, after CCSA had already approved WNTC's 1976-77 budget, SGA voted to drop all funding from WNTC. As a result, CCSA picked up SGA's half of the funding making WNTC a totally Clarkson organization. On the basis of past money invested in the sta- tion, SGA wants half ofWNTC's assets - in cash. At the December meeting, Duggan and Kilmartin said that SGA is entitled to half the' insured value. or $13,000. CCSA, in turn, explained to them that the insurance, which Clarkson pays for, is based not on the present day value of the station, but on the replacement value, a fact that Duggan and Kilmartin claimed they did not know. Actually. about 751th of. the equipment in WNTC was designed and built by station members. Thus, the present- day value is not near the insured value. Rizzieri spoke to Dean by Harriet Carter Davis about the WNTC situation and the possibility of having an audit done to find the actual value. Davis said that he could find someone to do the audit, but the cost would have to be split between CCSA and SGA. SGA has said nothing about my ing for the audit. Rizzieri also explained the situation to President Plane, who answered that he does not want to see any money change hands tCCSA to SGAL While waiting to see the final outcome, several CCSA senators have been raising some interesting points about the SGA suggestion of liquidation. First. the audit will probably cost more than the actual value. ThuskSGA wouldn't gain any money - just lose a radio station. Second, CCSA does not have the money to throw away on an audit. Third, if labor is consid- ered as part of the equipment value, a 50-50 split of the cash could be considered unreason- continued on page 2 Tuesday, February 8, 1977 j Integrator staff are: ROW 1: Bob Ziek, Barb Ward, Harriet Carter, editor. CCT Not Hurt By Gas Shortage A natural gas shortage, which is'disrupting many schools and industries throughout the country, will not be a problem for Clarkson, natural gas used by the college is purchased from the St. Lawrence Gas Company, which in turn obtains natural gas directly from Canada. Canada currently has a plen- tiful supply of natural gas. CCT is fortunate in this reSpect, for St. Lawrence county is the only county in New York state that receivces natural gas from our northern neighbor. In fact. very few areas in the easternU.S.re- ceive any natural. gas from Can- ada. The cost of gas to Clarkson for January 77 is expected to rise only 120A over the Dec. 77 price. Approximately one third of Clarkson College facilities use natural gas. Most of these are real estate and dormitory buildings, such as the Faculty Apartments, the president's home, Smith House, Moore House, Hill Dorms, and the Gym. Other buildings at Clark- son use a variety of power sources; typically electricity and fuel oils. Many of the heating systems are conveniently adap- table to a variety of power sources. They are thereby safe from shortage problems of any particular source. Such flr '- ible systems will by used for all by Steve Yurgartis new construction. The college continues to improve energy utilization effic- iency. According to Mr. Gerald Gonyea. Director of Physical Plant. over the past four years consumption of fuel oil at the central steam plant has de- creased 27070 andconsumptiOnof electricity for the entire college has decreased 4094;. Clearly a sig nificant amelioration. An un- official goal set for Clarkson by Mr. Gonyea is a reduction of tot- al energy consumption to 125,000 BTU per square foot per year, or less. This would be a decrease of about 3Wo over the consumption of four years ago. Total cost to meet this goal would be roughly one million dollars. Improvements requiring investments that can be regained through fuel cost savings within two years have been generally undertaken. Further conserva- tion projects are under cosidera- 'tion. Although Clarkson College. by necessity, requires abundant power sources, no major energy supply problems are forseen in the next few years. This com- forting outlook could, of course, change drastically if fuel export; ing countries alter current poli- cies or State and Federal laws change. CLASS F 1977 Posed over a mantle at the Rat, there is a chimp in a 'Clarkson sweatshirt flaunting a couple of items every Teacher is quite familiar with-a can of beer and a sliderule. I think this amusing portrait has become outdated. Surely, doing 12 ounce curls at the Rat hasnit gone out of style. We have some pretty convincing evidence living right in the Pit that this hairy little fellow may share ancestry with us, but on the whole, man has evolved. Now, getting to the heart of the matter, man isnt the only facet of this portrait that has evolved. The sliderule has been rather un- ceremoniously dethroned from its posi- tion as the engineers best friend, by the calculator. The calculator has been a wonder to this Techer since it burst onto the scene. The economics of it alone made this pocket sized contraption an item worthy of my respect. For the amount I paid for my brand x three years ago, I could be commanding a fleet of them today. Ilm less than thrilled about this lesson in economics of developing products. Many of my contemporaries have traded up to the later issue products. Some have a couple . . . thereIs a guy in one of my classes who has one dangling from each belt-loop on his pants. Thereis only one rugged individual I know on campus who refuses to purchase a calculator. I must admit hes a pain to sit next to during a test rattling those damn beads. Thereis an amazing number of things you can do with your electronic calculator. Just touch a few buttons and in a flash your trusty calculator will daz- zle you in ten significant figures that four divided by two is in fact equal to 1.999999999. Some education theorists feel that the electronic calculator is causing detrimental effects. Sure, I,ve seen guys kick off their shoes during a test when their calculatorsi bat- teries lose their charge and ten fingers 144 just went making it. Although, thatls no reason to claim that the calculator is mentally crippling usll I dont think the calculator has yet come close to reaching its full potential. live seen creative people around Clarkson innovating with their calculators. Watching it count to infinity or generate random numbers are fine examples. A friend and I are in the process of developing a calculator game we call Bowlerama. To incorporate Bowlerama potential in your calculator simply drop repeatedly Ibest results on concrete and by the way, stairways have proven excellentl and listen for telltale rattling upon shaking. CAVALCADE THATS ENTERTAINMENT PART III ICE CARNIVAL ,77 RESULTS This years Ice Carnival was severely hampered by the weather and student government controversies, but ffThatfs En- tertainment, Part IIIK proved an overall success. Cavalcade kicked off the week on January 29, with a TDK capturing first in the menis division with ffKeystone Copff antics. Prometheus took second with nCamelotif, and DU was in third with fiPinocchio. Ago won first place with iiWest Side Story . Phi K took second in ifThe King and If, and Alpha had third with uGoocl Ship Lollipop . Co-ed division saw Lehman East taking first with iiA Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forumf, and Van Housen having third with Cinderella? The parade had to be rescheduled until the day of the ball because of the weather. DU took first, TDK second, and TEP third. In womenfs division, Alphais float was first, Omega second, and Phi K third. Co-ed saw Knowles East taking first, and Ross second. All week long, the different oil cloths and window painting decorated the town and campuses. First in menfs oil cloth was prometheus, second was DU, and third was Delta Sig. Womenfs oil cloth saw Ago capture first, Alpha second, and Omega third. In co-ed, Knowles East took first, Holcroft-Van Note second, and Knowles North, third. The window painting, Menfs division, saw DU taking first, with AXP having second, and TEP taking third. Womenis win- dow paintings had Omega first, Zeta second, and Phi K third. The co-ed division brought first place to Holcroft-Van Note, second to Reynolds, and third to Lehman East. Ice Skating proved as entertaining as always, with singles, relays, and the obstacle course. AEPi took first in men, with Sig second, and TDK third. Women had Omega first, Zeta second, and Phi K third. Co-ed saw a first with Ross House, a second with Van Housen, and third with Lehman East. The Ice Statue Competition brought a variety of size, shape and talent to the winter scenery. TDK captured first, with DU a close second, and AXP taking third. Ago placed first in women's, with Alpha taking second, and Omega having third place. Co-ed ice statues rated Holcroft-Van Note first, Knowles East second, and Knowles North, third. The Warm-Up dance on Thursday featured ifAugust , and plenty of good dancing and entertainment. Friday was election day of King and Queen, in addition to the traditional CCP-RPI hockey game, and Vic Party at Lewis House afterwards. The ball was crowded, but fun and exciting, as all the win- ners, including King and Queen were announced. King of Ice Carnival 77 was Tom DeAngilo from DU, with Ted Madzy of TDK being first runner-up, and Jim Liberty of TKE being second runner-up. Queen of Ice Carnival was Sharon Gilmore of Alpha, with Shelley Millane from Reynolds being first runner- up, and Lee Mandarano from Omega as second runner-up. The concert, featuring Blue Oyster Cult, was moved to the following week, after Ice Carnival, but proved a Fitting climax Even with technical problems and late starts, the group, com- bined with their stunning light show, was a definate crowd pleaser. Overall winners for this hectic, amusing, rewarding week were DU, Alpha, and Knowles East. 149 7H3 9505 t o CPL rismzas Present... EA Cariswtmas j Cam 6A $.65. Chemistry: ROW 1: G. Jones, E. CEE K-4 Meadow East Apts., Potsdam, NY On October 14, 1976, Potsdam cesspool repairman, Rob Paine was deeply immersed in his work on the Hillcampus when the lunch whistle blew. He began to wade about, looking for something to float his Saga cream-filled doughnut on, when his boot struck an oddly shaped object. As unlikely as it may seem, this was a great moment in the history of Clarkson College, for Rob had discovered the first known Theta Dot. Thus began the noble undertaking of two Clarkson students to form what has become the newest fraternity- sorority tknown as a ttfracton'tyt in cer- tain social circlest on campus. THETA DOT. Located on the fourth floor of Ormsby House, the Dot Mansion is the home of the two founders and co- presidents, Dave and Steve. The mem- bership role continues to grow, and as the full impact of THETA DOT sweeps the campus, more and more students are accustomed to the ban-shee-like cry echoing off the Science Center walls; THHEEEEEEEETITTAAAAAA DOO 'ITIT!!!!!!
