The Editors The Great High School Hard Sell CHEERLEADERS - As Mrs. Jennifer Vestal cheered, the saddle-shoed wonders began reaping in profits from suckers, by selling them. Penny candy was sold for three cents, but who could resist a cheerleader? CHALK-STUDIO - Sure, they're expensive, but wasn't your face worth it? Most seniors thought so, and paid $30 to $100 for pictures. GAMES - To watch athletes do their thing is expensive. During the basketball season, the price was $1.00. The juniors scheduled one last game - to be played while riding donkeys. The smell was ripe; as was the price: $1.25 to watch. BALFOUR - Size and color of ring stone determined the size of Dad's check. Juniors and seniors paid dearly to let everyone know they made it. ROCKET - For only $6.25, students bought all the memories and experiences that happened during the year, complete with cover. However, there were no profits, as all money went for printing the yearbook. HERFF-JONES COMPANY - Seniors made quite an investment in name cards, memory books, thank-you notes, graduation announcements, and the ever-popular senior class keys. 152 (joo( l)ij(' IjeHHou ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
