CLARKSBURG HIGH SCHOOL ANNUAL ALMA MATER Melody: Go Bring the VVagon Home, john Where friendship's bonds grow deepest As youthful years speed on, We'll join in happy melody Ere high school days are gone- To sing our deep alfection, O Clarksburg High, to thee, Revered for truth and virtue bold Thy name shall ever be. O Clarksburg High we love thee In frolic, fun, and fray, Triumphant colors e'er will be The scarlet and the gray, Thy mem'ries dear will linger As swift the years roll by, We'll sing our fondest praise to thee Forever, Clarksburg High. COMMENCEMENT Melody: Laddie and Lassie. CEtude, August, 19241 O Clarksburg, fair Clarksburg, how oft will we ponder The ties that have bound us in years swift gone by. Our footsteps will falter wherever we wander- Turn back to the threshold of old Clarksburg High. Oh how fond the mem'ries that ever will lingerg Deep wrapped in true friendship their freshness will lie. May the years their choicest rich blessings e'er bring her Protect her in virtue, our fair Clarksburg High. - 'BACCALAUREATE Melody: Minuet in G Where the tides of memory's mystic sea Deep and vast, meet the past- There we all will wander far away In the light of childhood's happy day. And the joys and hopes of other years We shall see, fresh and freeg And the thoughts of blissful days gone by Will dim the eye, Clarksburg High. Years so swiftly have flown Filled with mirth and joyous laughter' Days of youth, hope and truth, Spent in Alma Mater, fair, our own- 7 May the lessons we have learned of thee Guide our way, day by day: May each memory hold us with ,its power Strong in virtue to life's closing hour. Heaven's blessing we beseech for thee From above, school we love- Memory's golden chain will bind us true, As years go by, to Clarksburg High.
