CLA HI TORY You may not find the events your author is about to tell in the pages of American history, but I defy anyone to say they are not as worthy of mention as any of the ,deeds of the heroes of long ago. Would you have me prove my words? Then lend your ears and give me your full attention. CHAPTER I - In September of 1943 twenty struggling pioneers set forth on their journey into the perils of education. Our leader was Mrs. Edna Pedigo. At the end of our ,journey through the first grade there were only eighteen left. Some new ones were gained and some lost. Those we lost after about two weeks of school were Floyd MaKenzie, Jr. , Barbara Peffley, and Junior Williams. We were now in the strange land called grade school. A CHAPTER H - The second year of struggles along the trail was shared by nineteen pioneers. Again our leader was Mrs. Pedigo. At the end of the year we had lost some pioneers and gained-some. Those lost were Aaron Cornett. Gerald Hampton, and Jerry Harvey. CHAPTER III - The third year we found our struggles were just beginning. There were thirteen in our little band and Miss Alice Casey was our leader. Those we lost were Rosalyn Patterson, Mary Jane Cordy, Rex Huddleston, Robert Wilcox, Barbara Ann Mayo, Joan Myer and Richard Smith. , CHAPTER. IV - We made our way through the fourth year of travel with much success. Miss Casey was still our teacher. We lost John Corwin. , CHAPTER V - We found studies getting harder as we approached the land of Junior High. Our leader was Miss Mary Baer. We lost Elmer Roberts. CHAPTER VI - We were now only one year away from Junior High land. Our leader was still Miss Baer. We lost Ann Bowling and John Perry. . CHAPTER VII - At last we found ourselves in Junior High land. We thought we were the most important class upstairs. We lost Shirley Foster, Wayne Wethington, and Dale Byers. CHAPTER VIII - One more year and we would be in the land of High School. They told us that the eighth grade would be the hardest and we believed it, too. We lost Roberta Morin, Max Pittenger, Stanley Rhine, and Elaine Wright. CHAPTER IX - Our first year in High School! We thought we were pretty important. This was the first year we got to choose class officers. They were: President, Larry Summers: Vice-President, Richie Van Allen, and Secretary-Treasurer, Letty Fischer. Our sponsor was Mrs. Bryant. We lost Ross Hawkins. CHAPTER X - Well, this was a very important year. We got our class sweaters - cardinal and white. Our class officers were: President, Anita Platt, Vice-President, Larry Blacker, and Secretary-Treasurer, Alice High. Our sponsor was Mrs.' Hoerger. We lost Letty Fischer, Stanley Rhine, and Joe Guinn. CHAPTER Xl - One more year and we will reach our destination, the twelfth grade. Some of the class members got class rings. Our class officers were: President, Larry Summers: Vice-President, Larry Blacker, and Secretary-Treasurer, Alice High. We also had a junior play called GIRL SHY. Mrs. Peterson directed. lt was considered a success. QCONTINUED NEXT PAGE! This page is sponsored by ROBERT SEARS, Stockwell, Indiana
