Another year has passed, but for me and the rest of the senior class, it was very special. It was our last year of high school and the beginning of new adventures. We will each go our separate ways and lead our separate lives, yet each will never forget the rest. We have shared thirteen years of good and hard times. We have laughed, cried, and worked together. We have shared times that are cherished in each other's hearts. We've helped each other when things seemed to be down. We have shared thirteen of the best and most remem- bered years of our lives. Each of us will soon go our own way and try to reach our own dream. We will experience many new adventures. I wish for all of you to reach those dreams and to have many good adventures. We will each face the future in our own way. Even though we may fall once in awhile, we will pick ourselves up and go on. We thank the people who have helped us to be able to face the future — our teachers, friends, and families. They have helped us so much through these thirteen years. Thanks to all my classmates for sharing their lives with me and making mine happier. Those memories will always be dear to me. Thanks to everyone who has helped make this year a success. It takes all the courage one can muster to make decisions that will affect an entire lifetime. Where does the courage come from? It comes from parents, from friends, from teachers all saying. ”1 care what happens to you.'' But mostly tne courage comes from deep inside, at those lonely times when deci- sions are made. A brave person will throw off the protective coverings; embrace life as precious, and make use of the opportunities encountered But every once in a while that brave person needs to look back and remember the wishes of Good luck,” from the people who really rfieant it. The 1978 Football season was one that showed the brute strength of our team; it also showed the lack of our experience. The team consisted of only three returning varsity players, but they seemed to adjust to a new coach well. We are looking forward to successful years in the future. TRACI TRICK TAACI The track team was in the process of rebuilding this year, but we managed to score as many as 22 points in the Polk Inv. We competed with mostly A and B schools through out the year. Next year we will have everyone returning from this year's team and some new members participating. Individual records were: Chris Caley, 112 shot put 120 high hurdles: 17.2. Dana Schultz — 5'8 , high jump 37.11.5, triple jump. Gary Micek — 17'4 , long jump. Ryan Kuhn 11:40 2 mile run. Todd Huston 5'6 , high jump. Tom Church :59.4, 440 yd. run. Dana Schultz also ran the 440 in :56.2. This is the best year the girls have had tor awhile. This is also the year that they, for the first time ever, qualified a girl for state. The girls worked very hard and because of this, they broke many records. Kim Reaman broke the shot put record and then broke her own record at almost every meet afterwards. She took first in the Golden Rod Conference and took first in Districts and qualified for state. 1979 Track Schedule Fullerton Relays — Failed to score. Loup City Invitational — Failed to score. Burwell Invitational — 1 pt. Wood River Invitational — 6 pts. Clarks-Monroe-Palmer Triangular — 47 pts. Goldenrod Conference —19 pts. Districts — 2 pts. The records broken were the shot by Kim Rea- man, throwing it 357’ , long jump by Pam Colby, jumping 1473 , 100 yd. dash, 12.2, triple jump, 30'2' z , and 220 yd. dash 28.1, all by Becky Phelps.
