7k Ta OK m3 Published by The Senior Class CLARKE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL Berry ville, Virginia VOLUME XIV 1 Jomcd ( A student stands in an empty hall, facing the beginning of another school year, during which he seeks to find that which will help to make his life successful. This is the theme of our yearbook -- THE SEARCH--the constant unending pursuit of that elusive, remote something. There are times when we wonder if this search will ever end. It is this that makes the stu- dent wonder where it may lead to and where it will end. U ' . ’ary hi ill ' s.. d, V;- I ! I OiUjMiflJtUM 66 ‘7«jc 26 ' jsujc !00 Ghu to ikt Swuk % iun Jomd In .. . ' Jmitu (ud tmimlm SmiMi Uidmkmm ' ?a e 6 ' ?(tje 22 ' T e 42 3 IbdUaJlm Aside from her superior skill as a teacher of Business Education, Mrs, Wisecarver possesses many more outstanding qualities, which may not be apparent to many of our students. Perhaps the most admirable of these is her willing- ness to help others, to do more than is required and do it cheerfully. Her spare time is divided among many extracurri- cular as well as civic activities. As a senior class sponsor, she spends hours helping the seniors plan their annual activities. She also sponsors the Future Business Leaders of America. But most of her time is spent working on the composition of the pages you are about to read. Each year Mrs. Wisecarver works long and hard on this presentation of the school year. She not only works with the staff after school, but also does much yearbook work at home. This work is all extra. Her only compensation for it is the feeling of satisfaction that comes from doing a job well. Even though Mrs. Wisecarver’s timetable seems already filled, she still finds time to par- ticipate in such civic organizations as the Junior Woman’s Club. Thus, through much secret planning and a few untruths, which kept you unaware of this honor, we wish to show our appreciation to you, Mrs. Wise- carver, for all your earnest endeavors. Mrs. Wisecarver explains to Linda Wynkoop, assistant editor, and Pat Edens, editor-in-chief, what will go on each page of THE TALON. 4 The class of 1963 dedicates this fourteenth volume of THE TALON to VIVIEN R. WISECAR.VER whose excellent supervision and calm perseverance made this and many other yearbooks possible. The teachers and the administrators are the organizers of the search, and it is from them that we gain the inspiration to advance educationally. They are responsible for the accurate organization of the curriculum with an eye towards improving our intellectual future. CHARLES E. MILEY WILLIAM L. BOYCE B. Athletics mean more than just the visible aspects of physical perfection--sports bring out in the student the qualities of com- petitive spirit, sportsmanship, ambition, and diive. In sports, as in life, there are goals that may seem too great to be attained but are always within reach. In sports these goals are material; in life they are intangible. Yet both can be achieved in nr the same way, by dedication and sing ness of purpose. 67 Stanley Dent, manager.
