emnrs PHIL GRIM BUDDY LOCKE BETTY CLARK BUDDY CARROLL President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Sixteen Seniors from Boyce climbed on a bus and came to join twenty- four Seniors at Berryville, iorming the first Senior Class of the Clarke County High School. As we filled the front rows of our auditorium, we realized for the first time the responsibilities of the Seniors in the school. We realized, too, what fun and hard work there is in being Seniors, in getting out THE TALON, putting on the senior play, and joining in activities, including the wonderful Junior-Senior Prom. Looking back over five years we recall the day we proudly marched up to receive our certificates of promotion into high school. We thought that in four more years we would be going out into the world, but the eighth grade was added, making a twelve-year system. Some of the highlights of the past five years are our real music teach- er in 46, the District L football championship in ’46, the beginning of the S. C. A. letters in ’46, the big blizzard in ’47 (no school for two weeks), the visit to the Freedom Train in ’48, the dance given to the seniors in ’48, the basketball championship in ’49, the football championship in ’49, and the trip to Washington, D. C. in ’50. June, 1950 — Graduation! Yes! Our greatest thrill is marching up to receive our diplomas. RALPH BELL Class Historian
