Class Memoirs ln September of 1944 the doors of CHS were stormed and the halls echoed with the patter of little footsteps. Among the rumble and clattering were Marilyn Davis, Ann Magill, Lois McRae, John Robards, and David Wilson. These rascals were under the ever-vigiliant eyes of Mrs. Hardin. Along with the guidance of our teacher we began our trek down the rough road toward knowledge. The next seven years were spent mastering the ABC's, multiplication tables, fractions, and geography assigiments. During these years we acquired Mary Donna Lawson. Marla Schrougham, and Mary Eldridge. The executive committee who ruled over the seventh grade class was John Robards as President: Ann Magill as Vice-President: Mary Donna Lawson as Secretary and Treasurer: and Mary Eldridge as Student Council. Continuing on into the years we see our eighth grade class officers are President, David Wilson: Vice-President, John Robards: Secretary and Treasurer, AnnMagil1g and Student Council, Mary Eldridge. For our eighth grade party we had a weiner roast and hay ride at Phillip Hutchin- son's house. Later in the year Mr. Holeman treated us to a hamburger fry at his house. A class election results for our freshman year were President, Mary Eldridgeg Vlce- President, Judy Patrickg Secretary, Marilyn Davisg Treasurer, Ann Magillg Student Council, John Robards: and Sponsor, Mr. Hixson, We always held our class meetings in Mr. Hixson's biology class. For some unknown reason they always lasted all period and sometimes into the next day's class. New members added by our freshman year were Marshal Plummer, Harriett Yarber, Phillip Hutchinson, and Phyllis Shepherd. Our sophomore rulers of the roast were President, John Robards: Vice-President, Phyllis Shepherdg Secretary, Ann Magillg Treasurer, Marla Schroughamp Student Coimcil, Mary Eldridgeg and Sponsor, Mrs. Zimmer. The new Sophie was Nora Cobler. For our junior class officers we had a very distinctive group of leaders. Ann Magill got the President's chair: John Robards was her asslstantg Mary Donna Lawson wrote up the history and minutes, Phillip Hutchinson made several deposits tothe treasury. and representing our class in the Student Council we had Lee Oliver.
