Sen lor Class H :story The Semor class entered Hxgh School wmth a total of f1fteen members The so called Green Freslues were Frances Shxpp Barbara Beckley Al1ce Randolph Rachel Nay Elo1se T1elk1ng Jeanne H1gdon Norma Love Ray Eggers Harold Lautenbach Harry Go1ns Harry Jordan Dav1d Rhude Lee Doyle Ruth M1tchell and Charles Mattmgly Soon after school started, we lost Norma Love because of 1l1ness and she was able to Jom us for the remaxmng part of the year In March Ruth M1tche1l moved to Helms burg and Harry Jordan to Ben Dav1s leav1ng us w1th only twelve members Dur1ng the summer Jeanne H1gdon and Davxd Rhude had moved Durmg our Sophomore year George Juhan Ruth Mxtchell Mary Broaddus Allen Toll1ver entered our m1dst the latter two only stay1ng one year Elorse T1e1k1ng re tired early 1n the semester Th1s left us wzth only eleven members now 1n our class Rachel Nay and Ray Eggers were the presxdents of our Freshman and Sophomore years Our Junior class off1cers were Presldent Rachel Nay Vlce Pres1dent Ray Eggers Secretary Al1ce Randolph Treasurer Frances Slupp Student Councll Charles Mattlngly Barbara Beckley Secretary Al1ce Randolph Treasurer George Juhan Student Counczl Ruth Mltchell Durlng our J'un1or year we had three money maklng projects selhng cokes 1ce cream and popcorn at the ballgames publ1sh1ng a school paper Clarktonxan Echoes and sel11ng stat1onery all occas1on cards and wrappxng paper Tlus year we have only one boy on the Frrst Ten Harold Lautenbach We have three yell leaders 1n our class Frances Sh1pp 47 48 Ray Eggers 48 49 and Rachel Nay 47 48 48 49 and 49 50 The two members m our H1gh School Band are Barbara Beckley and Ray Eggers Our class colors are maroon and wlute the class flower the wh1te carnatxon Our motto The Door of Success as Labeled Push We the Sen1ors of 1950 wlsh to express our apprec1at1on to our sponsor Harry J' R1chey who has glven h1s personal lnterest to each of us not only as h1S students but 1n each phase of our l1ves 10 I I .. l . ,,, . . .
