Buddy Elkins issued the call for basketball players for the '58-59 season, he was greeted by the appearance of seven letter- men, They are as follows: Robert Pommer, Jim Garvin, Don Sannes, Jim Guffey, Bob Graham, Jerry Wicks, and Darwin Wika. in conference play the Comets wound up the season in fourth place with a recofd of 8-5. Comets were beaten in the first round by DeSmet. invitational Tournament by defeating Oldham.
