Flagtwirlers display COLOR Butterflies, cutcsics, chasers, and starbursts all were part of the varied routines which demonstrated the originality of the Clark flagtwirlers. Selectively chosen by a panel of judges, fourteen girls made up the flagtwirling squad. This year there were six returning girls and eight new members. The flagtwirlers “made camp great by attending U.S.A. Camp in Santa Barbara. California, along with the varsity and JV cheerleaders, and the songlcadcrs. The group won a superior banner and trophy, a spirit stick, and various excellent and superior ribbons for individual performances. During the year, the squad performed at spirit assemblies and at basketball games under the guidance of head flagtwirlcr. Pam Burnley, and co-head, Dana Kerzetski. They spent first period practicing, learning, and perfecting routines. Many early morning and after-school practices were required to get ready for a performance. The group’s advisor was Miss Theresa Concrly. I. The flagtwirlers perform a starburst during their PYT routine. 2. Jill Tingey practices during first period. 3. Wrestlerettes support MATMEN S upport. encouragement, assistance — these were just a few of the services provided by the Charger Wrestlerettes. This group of spirited young ladies not only cheered on the Clark wrestling team, but they also helped score and run the machines, thereby taking tremendous pressure off coaches, wrestlers, and referees. This group was similar to other spirit groups in that the girls tried out to join, and they wore uniforms to school the day of each match. Also, they conducted many of the usual fund raisers such as candy sales, bake sales, and car washes; but the Wrestlerettes added one new twist to fundraising by having a clock sale in cooperation with the wrestling team. The season's high points came with two trips to Reno, one for a Christmas tournament and the second for the state competition February 15-20. 4A Officers. Krone row: Gina Drcycr. Claudia Piccoli.
