Varsity Cheerleaders IGNITE Breath-stopping pyramids captured audience attention as the varsity cheerleaders performed at spirit assemblies and games. The squad executed the difficult, and potentially dangerous, lifts with a flair made possible only by hours of practice. Perfecting their pyramids was a goal the girls established when they attended USA camp in Santa Barbara. With the flagtwirlcrs and songlcaders, the squad earned a superior trophy and a spirit stick. For the best poster displayed, they won a record of the camp theme song. Though their primary responsibility was performing at games and assemblies, the girls also made appearances off campus when they received invitations from Friendly Ford and KI.AV radio to aid in their sales campaigns. Senior Debbie Craythorn and junior Theresa White filled the roles of head and co-head within the group. Theresa also added sparkle to their performances with her fast-paced tumbling routines. idclinc chants provide the fans with an opportunity to participate. 2. Theresa White. Songleaders exhibit STYLE 44Pock-A-Boo,” “Major Tom.” and Scorpio” were just a few of the songs used to perform rolloffs and dance routines by this year's songleaders. Moves included toe-touches off of stools and double stag leaps. The songleaders also represented Clark as a cheering group throughout the football and basketball seasons. Three members of this year's squad — Rita Risscr, Cindy Clacrhout, and Tammy Schafer — returned from last year. A new policy of determining the leadership roles, in which the three worked together, began a new change for the group. Rita worked with the financial records and paper work. Cindy advised the group during dance choreography, and Tammy led the squad’s chants and cheers. The group attended camp with the cheerleaders and flagtwirlers. where they won a spirit slick, many ribbons, a superior trophy and banner. Their second period class provided the time for daily practice, but they also spent many after-school hours in rehearsal. 1. The songleaders finish off the song. ' Peek-A-Boo. with a final pose. 2.
