Exec Council builds GOVERNMENT Changes and new ideas marked the year for the Executive Council. A new precedent was set up by keeping the student government office open during both lunches for suggestions and by having open meetings for the student body. This year also brought a change in the Executive Council advisor from Dr. Dean Funk to Mr. Ken Bedrosian. Planning of Homecoming 1983, a week filled with many new ideas, was the major emphasis of the council. They elected to make Homecoming different this year by having the dance at school in the gym rather than the traditional site, a major hotel. The council consisted of twelve members: nine seniors elected by popular vote, and the presidents of the Sophomore. Junior, and Senior Councils. Officers this year included Donny Mayhall as student body president, Nate Williams as vice-president, and Stephanie Fujii as sccrctary trcasurer. Council members participated in the annual Nevada Association of Student Councils Convention held at the Aladdin Hotel, while two members, John Tippit and Stephanie Fujii, attended the National Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. 1. CHS Editors initiate LEADERSHIP pour seniors provided guidance for the yearbook and newspaper staff. Susan Frank, and Renee Tctreault worked together as co-editors for the yearbook, the Cavalcade, while Danny Barber with the help of Sports Editor Karl Linsenbardt led the newspaper staff. Susan and Renee were both veterans on the yearbook staff, each working on the previous year's book. Together, during the fourth period class designed for editors in the Publications Department and in the fifth period class for the yearbook staff, the girls developed the theme for the book and were responsible for every item in the final project. Danny had been involved in journalism throughout all four years in high school, while this was Karl's second year on staff. During second period, they worked with the Charger staff to prepare the newspaper. The four seniors were advised by Mrs. Judi Hale. 62 Editors
