Lady bowlers finish first in division play Strikes, spares, splits — terminology well-known to the girls’ bowling team. This year's team, under the coaching of Mrs. Carolyn Myers, maintained and achieved goals of being number one. Consistency and team spirit complemented the ability and skill of the girls on the team. Junior Kim Guertin led the group with a high game of 170 and a high scries of 569. Placing first in their division, the team also participated in the roll-offs at the Showboat Hotel, taking second in the state. Western's bowling team posed a strong threat, but the Charger girls proved themselves at the end of the season. I. Rachel Somianka watches her mark after making a release. 2.
