I NH5 students donate ingenuity, time, effort to community projects Stressing involvement in both the community ond the school, the 1981-62 Honor Society worked continuously throughout the year. The honor students began by helping with registration ond ossisting with the hearing ond vision rests for the sophomores. They also sponsored the onnuol blood drive to oid the Nevodo Dlood Services; in this event Clark students donored 100 units. Individual Honor Society students also did various service projects for non-profit orgonizotions. During the holidoys. NHS members mode Christmas boskets for the patients of the Charleston Convalescent Home where they hod refreshments, song Christmos carols ond decoroted o tree for the potients. In order to become eligible for the Notionol Honor Society, students must be involved with school ond community affairs, hove good citizenship. ond maintain o 3.5 grade point overage. Dovid Moyes wos the only junior: the resr were seniors. The students were sponsored by Americon Field Service, World Experience. Rotory Internorionol. Youth Exchonge Service, ond Youth for Understanding. They lived with Los Vegos fomilies. most of whom hod students ortending Clark. Nine juniors hod the honor of representing Clork or Nevado Boys’ ond Girls’ State in June of 1961. The onnuol workshops in state ond locol government, sponsored by the Americon Legion ond Legion Auxiliary, drew students from throughout the state.
