Chargers celebrate 'Better than Ever' during festive week Better than Ever wos chosen for Cork's 1981 Homecoming theme. A variety of festivities added to the spirit of the week. October 19-24. Among the mony activities were the following: mess-eoting contest, chariot roces. VW races, ond the golfboll swing. The vorious dress-up doys included M A S H Doy. Togo Doy. Colifornio-Howoiln Doy. Sports Doy. ond Block ond Gold Doy. Seniors proved their spirit by their overwhelming victory in the VW roces ond holl decorotion effort, while juniors won with their decorating of the gym ond sophomores nobbed the bulletin boord title. Senior Sebostion Bolle wos honored os Spanish Club's “Ugly Mon, ond Mr. Football wos oworded to Tom Wideen. With o winning 5-1 previous record ond o shot or the store title, the Chorgers were disappointed by o 28-9 loss to the Gormon Gaels. Pre-gome festivities included the seniors winning the floor competition. Michelle McDonold wos Homecoming queen; her court included Nodine Kuhn. Suson Murray. Moliko Souiri. ond Tommy Tussey.
