Heolth dosses were required for one semester for oil sophomores. Students learned about themselves ond also studied how their bodies work. They leorn-ed about the couse ond effect relationships of drinking. smoking, ond drug abuse. Sophomores took Driver's Education for one nine-week period. This course fomiliorized the students with the driving lows in Nevada. Simulators ond behind-the-wheel troining were provided to help students leorn the correct woy to drive o cor. A coreer closs promoted oworeness of the various fields for coreer choices. Students were required to write o report of the end of the nine weeks on o coreer of their choice. The practical ospects of jobseeking, including applications ond resumes, added to the course of study. Physicol Education seemed to be o favorite of the students. Many students go on to take P.E. throughout their remaining years of high school even after requirements ore met.
