'81-'82 Spanish Club rakes special interest in Mexican culture The CHS Spanish Club wos very active this yeor. The membership wos quite lorge. numbering about 60. The president wos Joanna Kishner. vice president was Stephanie Pettit, ond the secretory wos Morionne Joffe. Their advisor again this year was Mr. Gordon Hole. The Spanish Club sponsored severol events, one of which wos the onnuol Ugly Mon contest during Homecoming week. There were two contestants from each grade, ond students cast their votes by puffing money in one of the contestant s buckets. The winner of this contest wos senior Sebostion Dalle. Sponish Club ogoin sponsored the onnuol Girls' Reverse Donee on Saturday. February 6. or the Sohoro Hotel. They olso sroged their onnuol Cinco de Mayo trip to different locations in Southern California. The Sponish luncheon wos held in October. Eoch student prepored food from his own culfurol backround os well os traditional Sponish food. It wos a chance for participants to leorn about different cultures ond somple new foods. The group olso entered their troditionol tree in Christmos Tree Lone, on event which they won lost yeor. A Christmas candy sole wos held to raise money for these different activities.
