Newspaper requires experience, creativity lifteen students made up the CHARGER staff for the year '80- 81. Staff members needed journalistic abilities as well as self-discipline, as there were deadlines every three weeks which had to be met in order to produce the newspaper on time. Issues alternated between four and eight pages except for the senior edition. Assignments for the class varied from news writing and features to editorials and sports. Topics included the mock government system and the controversial Question 6. Drawing layouts for pages and making proof corrections were other areas of newspaper work. Staff members sold advertisements to help cover the cost of printing. The staff worked under the supervision of editor-in-chief Valerie Talley, editors Scott Farrow and Lisa Loesch. and advisor Judi Hale. The Nifty Nickel provided the professional printing support. I.
