Intelligence prevails as Varsity Quiz team excels in competition Vast knowledge, a quick mind and a fast trigger finger were a few of the many qualities needed to be in Varsity Quiz. Besides including meaningful academic subjects, the questions cover other areas: one might be asked to name Donald Duck's nephews, or to say what Johnnie Walker is famous for. Where is the duodenum located, or what is a panpipe? Knowledge is not the only criterion for Varsity Quiz success. Knowing the answers is not enough: a player must be able to hit the buzzer first, thus receiving the chance to answer. If the answer is incorrect, the opposing team has a chance to respond. Accuracy is essential. This year's Varsity Quiz team consisted of approximately 20 members. It was led by Paul Fallon who chaired the team for the majority of the year. Their advisor was Mr. John Harrington. The Varsity Quiz team not only competed with other schools but also had some of its matches televised. Varsity Quiz gave the students who played a chance to letter in a nonphysical sport. Varsity Quiz. Back row: Erica Lawson. Anton Blood. Kris Schultz. Wosloy Moore. Mr. Harrington.
