Musical, artistic skill perfected by students Practicing. perfecting, performing . . . fine and performing arts students worked endless hours sketching and painting pictures, forming cloy, memorizing lines for plays, and practicing music. The Fine Arts Deportment offered a curriculum especially designed for students wishing to pursue art as a career.. Featured courses included metal art. ceramics, drawing, painting, commercial design, and photography. The Performing Arts Department entertained with musical talents as well as dramatic abilities. The Choral Music Department, which performed throughout the year under the direction of Ms. Marcia Neel, featured Counterpoint. Madrigals. Girls' Glee, and Choir classes. Under the direction of Mr. William McMosley. the Instrumental Music Department was active in concerts. Advised by Ms. Carrol Statom, the award-winning Drama Department participated in county-wide speech and drama tournaments. The Fine and Performing Arts Deportments taught patience and brought much appreciation as well as satisfaction. 208 Fine and Performing Arts

Required Classes 207 Health, Driver's Ed, PE classes promote self esteem, fitness Clark's health courses aid in understanding not only the human body, but also the health problems of the community. Among the subjects studied are anatomy, drug abuse, and sex education. Driver's Education classes help students learn Nevada's highway rules and regulations along with the responsibility that accompanies driving. Simulator training and behind-the-wheel. even though not required, are offered before and after school. Incorporated with the health and driver’s education program is the physical education department. Students are encouraged to become involved with leisure activities they enjoy. With the concern of fitness on the increase, students are seeking new ways of getting and staying in shape. Tennis, volleyball, softball, archery, badminton, and basketball are a few of the many different sports which are introduced in the program.
