Students form skills, develop study habits in vocational classes Some elements of the curriculum feature practical learning experiences useful in doily life. Business classes offer students the opportunity to learn many office skills. In the classroom, students achieve speed and accuracy through timed writes in typing, shorthand, and briefhand. Other courses stress operation of machines used in today's business offices, the importance of accounting and the usefulness of consumer economics. Through these classes interested students learn the methods of operating efficiently in the business world. In shop classes students learn the maintenance and repair of automobiles, carpentry and cabinet making. and metal working. Drafting classes teach the fundamentals of architectural design for the present and future. Child Development and Family Life prepare the interested students for married life and the responsibilities that come with raising a family. Through hands-on experience students learn practical skills in clothing, foods, and interior design. Vocational Classes 205

Required Classes 207 Health, Driver's Ed, PE classes promote self esteem, fitness Clark's health courses aid in understanding not only the human body, but also the health problems of the community. Among the subjects studied are anatomy, drug abuse, and sex education. Driver's Education classes help students learn Nevada's highway rules and regulations along with the responsibility that accompanies driving. Simulator training and behind-the-wheel. even though not required, are offered before and after school. Incorporated with the health and driver’s education program is the physical education department. Students are encouraged to become involved with leisure activities they enjoy. With the concern of fitness on the increase, students are seeking new ways of getting and staying in shape. Tennis, volleyball, softball, archery, badminton, and basketball are a few of the many different sports which are introduced in the program.
