130 Lack of experience hurts girls' golf team This year's golf team, consisting of three sophomores and two juniors, was one of the youngest teams Clark has ever had. After losing two four-year letterwinners. the team found it difficult to adjust, despite the efforts of Coach Jiles Reiley. Lisa Miller was a medalist in the first two matches of the year, but the team could not attain the scores needed to win the matches. During the year three girls were medalists in various matches. In addition to Lisa. Linda Showers and Teri Ennes played some excellent rounds of golf. The year culminated with the State AAA Championship in Reno, where Lisa came in twelfth.

Charger girls' tennis retains zone crown The girls' tennis team has long been a dominating force in the Southern Nevada area since its beginning in 1972. The 1980-81 squad lived up to these expectations by maintaining the winning streak of 29 straight matches in season play over the past three years and by winning the zone title for the fourth time in five years. They failed to win state by losing to Reno High 14f j-1 3 2 in an extremely close match. The duo of Dena Curtright and Lisa Schwartz proved to be a winning combination as they took top doubles honors in both the zone and state competitions. Second in the zone doubles were Beth Snavely and Susan Frank. Suzanne Rogers and Kathy Delaney also proved to be a strong doubles team: they were undefeated in season play. Throughout the regular season Curtright and Schwartz were successful at singles along with freshman Cindy Lauer. who maintained a 29-3 record throughout the season. Juniors Katie Scott. Karen Goodall. and Sabra Lessnick. and sophomores Susie Strimling and Cheryl Cohen completed the team. Coach Robert Wilcox cited seniors Dena Curtright and Suzanne Rogers as outstanding players.
