Dr. Vivian W. Henderson, the 18th president of Clark College, died on January 28, 1976, as this volume was being prepared for publication. His death left an enormous gap in the life of Clark College and countless other organizations around the country to which he gave unselfishly of his time and his many talents. It would be difficult to identify any other single individual upon whom so many other individuals and groups depended for leadership, counsel, advice and support. His dreams and visions, coupled with a rare ability to translate them into reality covered: the spectrum of human af- fairs. There seemingly was no issue related to the well-being of his fellow men and women with which he was not concerned. All who knew him have been blessed by his touch w a touch that made eVeryone feel important. We all are the beneficiaries of a great legacy. Now the challenge comes to us in lines from one of Dr. Hen- dersonls favorite hymns: . Facing the rising sun, Of a new day begun, Let us march on till Victory is won.
