She has watched many young ladies come to Ciark and later developed into well educated Black women. As Director of Merner Hall, Mrs. Gilliam has roomed sisters and cousins of many that have lived in Merner Hail in years passed. She knows and remembers most of the faces that have been under her direc- tions. Her efforts as a Dormitory Director has been rewarded by awards and compiiments by the Dean of Women and Dean of Students. Her constant drive for getting things done has been noted by residents and other workers. Once again her service and loyalty to Clark College and Merner Hall has been honored by the Dedica- tion of the 1974 Panther Yearbook. 19 DEDICATION Dr. Joseph Dennis is a well-known Mathematics instruclor at Clark Col- lege. He has been al Clark College since 1930 and presemly serving as Chairman of the Mathematics Depart- ment. His warm and considered smile and style of teaching has affected many. His style has been carried on by many of his formal students into their Classrooms. He has caused many un- certain students to find a home in Mathematics. Talent and confidence has been built in many students by Dr. Dennis. He has been honored for his service many times. But Dr. Dennis has done the common things of life in a uncommon way . Therefore, he is honored once again for his talent and discoveries by the Dedication of the 1974 Panther Yearbook.
